Do you remember when we were young

What we were running from?

Round the trees in the woods we’d go

Right behind your home

I’d always wait outside your window

Your parents yelled at me ‘go away!’

Each and every day

But our friendship was oh so strong

didn’t need words to talk

I reminisce about those days

We were chilling by the stream

Playing hide and seek

Collecting rocks and dreams and leaves and love

Still everyday I wait by the door

But you don’t come out no more

Every morning you leave in your car

And you don’t come back till dark

How I miss the days when we

were chilling by the stream

Playing hide and seek

Collecting rocks and dreams and leaves and love

Now I’m howling at your window at night

Begging you to come

I see you turned on the lights

Step into the backyard

I jump at you: How you’ve been?

Now I’m staring down the barrel of a gun

Do you remember when we were young

What we were running from?
